Choose who to travel with

Planning a vacation or trip is always exciting. It is even better when you are traveling with family and already know you get along well. But if you need to choose travel companions, it helps to understand how different personality colors approach travel, what they need, what they prioritize and how they behave along the way.

Red personalities usually do not have much time to prepare for a trip because they are busy with what they consider more important things. That is why they often choose to travel without cutting corners and prefer booking through travel agencies. Still, money plays a very important role in their lives, so Red personalities are often excellent negotiators who will hunt for discounts wherever they can. At the same time, they will usually pay extra for a seat on the plane and choose a room with a great view.

So if you are dreaming of a camping trip and sleeping in a tent, it may be better not to invite Red personalities. They do not enjoy strange surprises, which is why they usually travel only with family or with friends who have already proven themselves on previous trips.

Cherry personalities tend to spend a long time thinking about whether they truly want to go anywhere at all. Not because they do not enjoy traveling, but because it matters to them that the trip has meaning. Cherry personalities are not likely to fly across the world just to spend a week lying by a pool and taking pictures of food. They choose places where they can feel something, understand something and truly see something.

Cherry personalities love beautiful cities, historic places, mountains, the sea, cozy hotels and long conversations in the evening. They may spend a month planning the route, reading about the country and searching for the best restaurant or hotel, but during the trip itself they are usually calm and do not try to take charge.

It matters deeply to them who they travel with. If the trip is full of noise, chaos, arguments or people who are always late, the Cherry person will start going quiet and thinking they would have been better off staying home.

Yellow personalities love to travel and genuinely enjoy good company. So if you are a Yellow personality, you can probably travel with almost anyone. Yellow personalities usually like to sort out the details of a trip in advance because they enjoy knowing a great vacation is ahead. If a Yellow person lives with a Green personality, they will usually let the Green handle the travel arrangements. Green personalities are happy to look after tickets and accommodations. Even if something during the trip disappoints the Yellow person, they still rarely want to deal with the actual logistics. Yellow personalities can walk through jungles or climb mountains with no problem, but they still want at least a few days of rest in a luxurious place.

And you will be the one solving the problems, because the Yellow person wants to enjoy the vacation, not spend it fixing things.

Green personalities enjoy surprises and challenges while traveling, and they usually handle them very well. Boring trips are definitely not for them. The more spontaneity, adventure and endurance-testing moments, the better. If you are traveling by car and planning to drive around 250 miles a day, the Green person will probably suggest going at least 375. Not tired yet, are you? Already want a break? You should have rested at home.

Although they may be calm and reserved in everyday life, when traveling Green personalities seem to break free from the chains of routine. They will boldly take flights with three layovers, sail through rough seas and sleep in a tent on top of a mountain in the strongest wind.

Moss personalities usually say they do not really care where they go. What matters most is that everyone is happy. That is why a Moss person can spend a week sleeping in a tent by a lake or go to an expensive hotel, as long as they see that others are enjoying it.

The biggest problem Moss personalities face while traveling is that they care too much about everyone else. They never forget the medicine, the snacks, the bandages, the phone charger, the water, the blanket and probably something else you will only realize you need three days later. If someone gets tired, cold, upset or loses their passport, the Moss person will be the first to rush in and save the day.

The problem is that Moss personalities rarely say what they themselves want. So after a week, it may turn out that they are exhausted, never really wanted to go anywhere in the first place and have secretly been dreaming since day three about simply being alone in peace.

Blue personalities usually plan their trips well in advance. They think carefully about where to go, when to go and with whom. Blue personalities never travel with random groups because vacations are not an everyday thing. Blue personalities may return to the same country more than once because they usually never get to visit all the places they planned. Even when they are trying to save money, they still want to sit together on the plane because they simply do not enjoy interacting with strangers.

Azure personalities usually dream about travel more than they actually travel. They spend a long time looking at photos, reading about beautiful places and imagining themselves walking by the sea, drinking coffee on a small street or listening to rain in the mountains.

Azure personalities do not enjoy too much noise, crowds or highly active trips. If someone suggests five excursions in one day, four museums and parties until morning, the Azure person feels exhausted before the trip has even begun.

They love small, cozy places, the sea, mountains, old towns, books, long walks and hotels where they can quietly be alone. When traveling, Azure personalities usually do not want to “see everything.” They want to feel something.

Orange personalities like to plan everything in advance, not because they are boring or have nothing better to do, but because they believe they deserve the very best option. That is why their trip has to be perfect. They enjoy organizing everything, finding the best places to stay, the most beautiful locations and the shortest routes. They want the vacation to be wonderful not only for themselves, but also for the people traveling with them. Orange personalities are not afraid of challenges and know how to adapt to all kinds of situations.

Violet personalities seem to become different people when they travel. Even the saddest and most unhappy Violet person suddenly grows wings on a trip. They do not like planning travel and are happy to let friends or loved ones take care of everything. While traveling, Violet personalities do not complain and can adapt to almost any conditions. They are probably some of the most interesting travel companions of all.

Pink personalities imagine travel in a very beautiful way. Not because they want to show off, but because they want everything to be perfect. A beautiful hotel, delicious food, a cozy terrace, beautiful clothes, great photos and at least one dinner in a place that makes you say, “This alone was worth the trip.”

Pink personalities love planning, comparing options, reading reviews and searching for the best balance of price and quality. They may spend six months choosing a hotel and then change their mind three more times. But once they decide, the trip usually turns out beautifully.

That said, Pink personalities are not always the easiest people to travel with. If the room does not look like the pictures, if the flight is delayed, if someone suggests lunch at a gas station or staying somewhere that is just “fine,” the Pink person suffers. Quietly or loudly. But they suffer.
